Business Systems Advisor

The Business Accounting Solutions department is responsible for the firm’s client accounting services. The Business Systems Advisor is responsible for providing technology driven consulting services to clients or potential clients for services related to but not limited to system process assessment and configuration, testing, training, project management and “go live” support.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with clients or potential clients to identify accounting systems solution requirements; analyze work processes and operations; and recommends solutions.
  • May work with clients and third party vendors to develop and implement solutions.
  • Creates pricing and proposals for requested projects.
  • Leads discussions with clients regarding business processes.
  • Directs system integration and migration of client data.
  • Keeps the firm up to date on the latest technology resources and tools.
  • Develops strong relationships.
  • Leads and manages multiple projects.
  • Is a liaison with internal staff, client and vendor communication.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and or computer science.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience; preferably with a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
  • CPA certification is a plus but is not required.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding of complex accounting and financial reporting for multiple entity businesses.
  • Consulting experience is a plus.
  • Expertise with QuickBooks®, Xero and Bill.com, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
  • Presents a professional image.
  • Highly organized and motivated.

2017 Internship Opportunities

Tax Internship January 2017

This position resides in our Tax department. The program will provide an environment that encourages learning and builds confidence. Interns will be given tasks that challenge and develop their skills with positive and regular feedback in a steady progression. Interns can expect to be trained in the following:

  1. Financial statement analysis
  2. Preparation and recording of adjusting journal entries and closing of general ledger
  3. Tax return preparation (corporate and personal)

The position will be full time (40 hours per week) starting in mid January 2017 through April 15, 2017.

Audit Internship January 2017

This position resides in our Audit – Assurance department. The program will provide an environment that encourages learning and builds confidence. Interns will be given tasks that challenge and develop their skills with positive and regular feedback in a steady progression. Interns can expect to be trained in the following:

  1. Trial Balance – importing, grouping & linking
  2. Binder – structure, templates & flow
  3. Admin – time entry, expense reports, eBoard
  4. Low risk areas – formatting letters, cash, PP&E, other assets, accruals
  5. Low risk engagements – working in the field

The position will be full time (40 hours per week) starting in mid January 2017 through April 15, 2017.

Support Internship January 2017 – Part time

This position resides in our Support department. The program will provide an environment that encourages learning and builds confidence. Interns will be given tasks that challenge and develop their skills with positive and regular feedback in a steady progression. Interns can expect to be trained in the following:

  1. Scan tax documents – corporate and individual
  2. Learn various documents required to prepare a return
  3. Learn tax and audit terminology
  4. Create opportunity for a full time internship in the future

The position will be part time (20 hours per week) starting in mid January 2017 through April 15, 2017.
